<![CDATA[North Country Barrel Racing Association - News]]>Sat, 19 May 2012 02:39:26 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[News after the May 4th Meeting]]>Mon, 09 May 2011 16:15:42 -0800http://northcountrybarrelracing.com/1/post/2011/05/news-after-the-may-4th-meeting.htmlThe main topic of discussion at this months meeting was our annual Barrel Bonanza which is scheduled to run this coming Sunday, May 8th.
We finalized the plans for the Bonanza which included circulating the job list and food list, discussing raffles, the food stand, and clean up afterward. Please remember that everyone’s help is needed through out the day.
Also it is very important that everyone stay after the barrel race to help clean up. It was
stressed at the meeting the importance of picking up around the parking area and around the arena. It is up to everyone to pitch in and make sure the facilities are kept clean!
Since this years Bonanza falls on Mother’s Day, a representative from the Regional Food Bank will not be in attendance so Joyce has
agreed to represent them! Some other suggested items were paper towels, toilet paper, baby diapers or formula, since there is always an on going need for these types of products!
Fundraisers
No orders were placed at the meeting for Alabu products but these do come highly recommended so if you are looking to fill one of your fundraising requirements give this one a try!
Also, the knife fundraiser is on-going so if you are interested in these you can see Helen for a
brochure and order form. Other possible fundraisers that were discussed were a pop-up
barrel raffle, the lottery baskets, and a $500 raffle so keep your ears open for more info on
these.
Points
Please be sure to get your times to Judy within 2 weeks of the barrel race so she can update
points.
Awards
A few different ideas for awards were discussed at the meeting.
Marilyn suggested “Trailer Buckles” which are buckles that you can
show off on your trailer. If you want to check them out go to:
http://trailerbuckles.com/home.
Judy suggested that we wait until October to finalize so we have a better idea as to how much money we will have available for awards.
